These are electronic databases, search engines, and other online resources that are available to residents of each state. Any unique log-in and identification requirements are listed under the source. Resources can be used from home, unless otherwise noted.

There may also be online resources and databases available for free through your local public library. Check your local library's web page for more information.

MeL: The Michigan eLibrary
This web page is not only useful for accessing databases, but for helping you determine the database that will be the most useful for your research. Click on the listed subjects (such as history and health) to see which databases are the best for researching that topic. And be sure to look at the MeL multisearch where you can search more than one database at a time. Log-in using your valid Michigan driver's license, state ID, or local library card.

University of Michigan Library Databases
Note that many of these databases are exclusively for University of Michigan students and faculty. However, any database that has a globe icon next to it is available for the public to use.
