Level 1 Reference G1021 .T55 1985 Oversize Atlas
Besides maps of continents and countries, this atlas includes aerial maps of cities around the world, maps of the solar system, climate and environmental maps, and much more. There are almost 300 detailed, and colorful maps of all types from all over the world. This is an essential atlas.

Level 1 Reference G1105 .A8 2005 Oversize Atlas
Besides political maps of the United States, Mexico, and Canada (and all the states, provinces and regions found within) there are also up-to-date population statistics,physical geography maps, weather maps, historical maps, and much more. There is also detailed information about every state, province, and region in North America, complete with population statistics.

Level 1 Reference G1200 .G47 2006
From the same editor as the Atlas of North America, this atlas is formatted similarly, but focuses entirely on the United States. More extensive maps and more specific information about each state are included.
- Atlas of World History

This works as both a history book and an atlas. You can find information about a wide range of historical periods all over the world from ancient Mesopotamian times to twentieth century environmental concerns.

Not only can you find detailed maps from all over the world in this atlas, but you can also find maps of environmental concerns, population, language and religion and much more. The back of the book contains a chart of population by city. Informative and easy to use.
- Hammond Atlas of World History

A colorful and text heavy atlas that incorporates the use of useful visuals other than maps, such as pictures, graphs, images, and charts. Composed of seven main section, Hammond's World Atlas moves the researcher through human origins and early cultures of 5 million years ago, to the age of global civilization of our present era. Split into two sections, this reference source focuses on the historical landscape of Massachusetts, as well as the political and social landscape. Incorporates many historical images, pictures, and maps, as well as charts and graphs to exemplify the historical context. Includes a statistical appendix, bibliography, and index.

Contains maps that date as far back as 200 million years ago and as recently as the twenty-first century. Includes major modern events such as the atrocities of September 11th 2001, as well as maps of what North America looked like before and during the different stages of the continental drift. This historical atlas contains a great deal of diverse information and maps, and is a great source for information about North America through the ages.

Beginning with Ancient Egypt and ending with late twentieth century Europe, this reference source moves the reader through a physically transitional time-line by use of numerous colored maps, accompanied by brief descriptions. Includes an extensive index.

Free Online
From the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), use this web site to view satellite images, geologic maps, live camera feed, data, and much more. This web page is frequently updated so that it will be relevant and up-to-date for all of its users. You can view simple world maps, but it is much more effective for finding data, such as which nations have had earthquakes, or the oil usage of a certain country. This is a very good resource for researching statistics and data from all over the world.

Do you want to see a road map of Miami or a physical map of Australia or a satellite view of your house? At National Geographic's Map web page, you can pick any area as big as a continent and as small as your own street and view a map of it.
Driving (and Walking) Directions

You can use this by putting in a name or address of a location that you want to find, and it will appear on the map, or you can zoom in on any area of the map of the United States and view the major roads and cities. You can take a "snapshot" of an area on the map, and print it.

Do you need driving directions from New York City to Los Angeles or from Barcelona to Paris? Or do you just want to see a detailed online map of Australia where you can zoom in for satellite photos? Find a country, a city, and a business anywhere in the world, and you can link another web site or blog to G-Maps in just three steps. You can do all of this on Google Maps, one of the best map web sites on the internet.
