Compiled with an introduction by Aung San Suu Kyi's (late) husband Michael Aris in 1991 while she was under house arrest, this collection of her essays, letters, speeches, and interviews is important reading for those interested in not only Burma's political development but also in Suu Kyi herself, as well as Burmese culture, religion, and language.
